Casey Freeman
“Moody and atmospheric, self taught artist Casey Freeman employs an unorthodox process to create her beautiful original works. Dropping the ink into a puddle of water, she rolls the inky puddle up the card to form the mist of an alpine forest, or the movement of billowing clouds and ocean currents. Casey only creates one off pieces so as to preserve the magic of ink as a wild and mysterious creature in nature; “I have to say that ink itself reminds me of one of those philosophical life matters, where moments can’t be recreated. Ink is like that. It’s entirely unpredictable which is both brilliant and challenging. When I paint something I like, I cannot replicate it”. Casey works from her studio gallery in Carlton and exhibits her work year round in Melbourne, Sydney and Tokyo.”
